Saltire Gallerie is located in the original 1781 home of Scottish immigrant James Hogg.  Enjoy this authentic restoration in the 

front parlor rooms featuring Scottish art and artists in honor of the family that lived here nearly 100 years. 

Saltire Gallerie is dedicated to research and restoration of art in our collection.  Ever changing our collection focuses on the natural beauty of Scotland, especially plein art from the 19th, early 20th and 18th centuries. Recently we acquired Renaissance period art, and we have Dutch, British, French and Italian paintings in addition to Scottish artists. We seek work internationally, focusing on technical virtuosity, beauty, and celebrated artists represented in museums and other galleries.  As a small gallerie in a small historic town we can provide our clients with better value than larger New York and London storefront galleries.  Call us for an appointment to view our collection. or inquire about a painting on our website. 

Laurel and Sidney Kilgore have a long relationship with Scotland, and fell in love with the house known as 'Banks of the Eno',( Alba oan th' Eno). Restoration continues, and we thank the many local tradespeople who are bringing the house to life!

Join us in our celebration of history and art every Thursday, and the last Friday of the month for the Hillsborough Art Walk. 

Our Gallerie of Art and two acres of gardens  offer elegance with a rustic touch. Stone staircases,  columned front porch,  Old Schoolhouse and covered gazebo with old beams  provide a varied palette for special events.  From a small Rehearsal Dinner in our elegant Gallerie space to party on the lawn, we welcome your vision for your event.  From photo shoots with our rustic cabin saved from demolition to be part of our home, to views from the porch of the 19th century Schoolhouse perched on the hill, you will find that perfect blend of history, elegance and rustic charm.  Not to mention our collection of fine art in the Gallerie. 

Envision a Sunday afternoon in the gazebo followed by a reception in the Gallerie and Front Porch for 50 or less, or an early evening white tent reception for up to 80.  We can help with ideas for catering, tents, photo spots, and all those details.  Send us a note!  We love a happy ending.
